Which set should I start with?
If you're new to painting, a complete kit gives you brushes, paint, surface and a
step-by-step guide already matched together. Not sure? Take our short quiz and we'll

Getting started
Give new brushes a gentle rinse before first use to settle the bristles, then blot dry
on a cloth. Load paint on the belly of the brush rather than pushing it into the ferrule
(the metal collar), that's what keeps a point sharp for years.
While you work
Don't leave brushes standing in water; it splays the bristles and loosens the ferrule.
Rest them flat instead, and rinse between colours.
Cleaning & storing
Rinse until the water runs clear, reshape the head with your fingers, and dry flat or
hanging down. Once fully dry, store them upright or rolled in a brush bag so nothing
presses on the tips.

Im pleased with the brushes and paper i bought, but got confused with the free offers of thr brush bag
From the write ups and offers i thought i was entitled to three brush bags, but i only recieved one. I queried it and was firmly told only one. I went back to look at the offers. I conceded that one of the offers could be misleading but that i was still entitled to 2.
Given that they were offering 85% off, and id paid more for my order, i couldn't see why they were quibbling. Anyway the second one arrived in the post today.
I was looking forward to receiving this bundle which was a Birthday gift. one of the packs of brushes had the label stuck on upside down and the other pack was shattered int he corner due to flimsy packaging. It was also missing the free brush bag. It did, however, contain two pages of adverts of items that were totally unrelated to the brand and items I had ordered which made the purchase feel very cheap, which it wasn’t! All in all a bad experience.

Rinse the same day
Pigment left overnight stiffens the belly of a brush, lukewarm water and a drop of mild soap keeps sable soft for years.
Reshape while damp
Draw the head to a point between finger and thumb and let it dry flat, never bristles-down in a jar.
Store dry, roll for travel
A canvas roll keeps ferrules dry and tips protected, it’s why we gift one with our kits.
Never let paint reach the ferrule
Load the belly, not the base. Dried paint under the metal splays the head permanently, the most common way a good brush dies.
Mix with an old brush
Keep one retired round for stirring and palette work; your fine tips stay fine for the marks that matter.
