The Artway 100% Cotton Watercolour Pad contains 12 sheets of 100% cotton, archival quality watercolour paper in A3 or A4 formats. Made on a traditional cylinder mould with natural gelatin sizing, this ensures the fibres are interwoven thus giving the paper far greater strength and dimensional stability.
This exceptionally resilient and durable paper is built for watercolour painting and mixed media work. It will take large volumes of water and, due to its cold pressed surface, can withstand scraping, erasing repeated washes. Colours remain bright and vibrant.
All of our watercolour papers are designed to withstand saturation, and this gummed pad keeps the paper stretched as it dries. The finished piece is then removed free from any buckling.

Getting started
Give new brushes a gentle rinse before first use to settle the bristles, then blot dry
on a cloth. Load paint on the belly of the brush rather than pushing it into the ferrule
(the metal collar), that's what keeps a point sharp for years.
While you work
Don't leave brushes standing in water; it splays the bristles and loosens the ferrule.
Rest them flat instead, and rinse between colours.
Cleaning & storing
Rinse until the water runs clear, reshape the head with your fingers, and dry flat or
hanging down. Once fully dry, store them upright or rolled in a brush bag so nothing
presses on the tips.

The quality it terrific and wonderful fir watercolour
I tested this paper tonight by doing a comparison with this and Arches paper. I did lots of techniques on both papers simultaneously. Same amount of paint, same brushes, same everything. Both papers worked more or less the same. Same bleeds, same blending, same density. The only difference I found was the texture/pattern of the paper showed through a little bit on the cheaper paper whilst the Arches was more or less smooth. So, I think I'll continue to use this paper.
